Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Diseases: Vaccination

In our clinic, we frequently consult about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), some of which can be prevented through vaccination.

In this blog, we will explain "STDs that can be prevented by vaccines."

Types of STD Prevention Vaccines

We will also introduce the costs and duration required for vaccination.

Hepatitis A Vaccine

Number of doses: A total of 3 (First dose, second dose after 2-4 weeks, third dose after 1-2 years) The effect lasts for about 10 years. It is targeted for individuals aged 16 and above. Cost: About 8,000 yen per dose

Hepatitis B Vaccine

Number of doses: A total of 3 (First dose, second dose after 4 weeks, third dose after 6 months) The effect lasts for about 5 years. *However, unfortunately, about 5% of people do not develop antibodies and thus do not benefit from the vaccine. It can be administered from 1-2 months after birth. Cost: About 8,000 yen per dose

HPV (Human Papillomavirus) Vaccine

Number of doses: A total of 3 (First dose, second dose after 1 month, third dose after 6 months) The effect lasts for the longest 6.4 years (average 5.9 years).

Cost: About 14,000 yen per dose This vaccine requires three doses spaced over time and is currently fully self-funded.

Vaccination as an Option for Infection Prevention

There are many types of STDs. While diseases like chlamydia and gonorrhea can be cured with a week of medication treatment, hepatitis, syphilis, HIV, etc., require long-term treatment.

These STDs often have an "incubation period," meaning many people realize they have the disease only after symptoms appear. Regular STD testing can quickly detect these diseases (similar to a health checkup). It's important to be cautious about STDs to protect both yourself and your partner.

For STD testing and treatment, trust our clinic. Your visit will consist of a consultation (if you have symptoms) → testing → prescription → discharge, all within about 10 minutes.

We provide completely private rooms, so you won't encounter other patients. Feel free to consult with us.
